About Lula Women’s Helpline
Lula Women’s Helpline is a Canadian non-profit organization that provides non-crisis emotional support to women across Canada. We aim to reduce feelings of isolation and promote emotional wellness, amongst women throughout all stages of their life. Our goal is to reduce the onset of mental health challenges turning into a crisis.
Services Offered
We provide:
- One-on-one emotional support via live chat
- Information about relevant community services
- Referrals (non-crisis) to third-party supports
We do not offer crisis counseling, therapy, medical advice, or emergency assistance.
Third Party Service(s)
We use Tawk, a third-party live chat service, to deliver real-time support. By using our chat, you also agree to Tawk’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, available here.
Languages Supported
Our services are available in English and French, depending on responder availability.
Service Availability
We strive to provide continuous, reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access due to maintenance, high traffic, or technical issues.
Your Information
You are not required to share personal information. If you choose to disclose identifying or sensitive data, it will be:
- Used only for providing support or fulfilling legal obligations
- Not stored unless necessary for service provision or compliance
- De-identified or deleted as soon as reasonably possible
Data Use Limitations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is used solely for:
- Support sessions
- Internal evaluation and improvement
- Reporting (anonymized only)
We will only use your data for other purposes with your consent or as required by law.
Disclosure of Information
We will not disclose your information except:
- With your explicit consent
- When required by law or court order
- If there is an immediate threat to someone's safety (as allowed by law)
In such cases, we will disclose the minimum information necessary.y assistance.
Use of De-Identified Data
We may use anonymized or de-identified information for:
- Training
- Service improvement
- Funding and impact reports
This data cannot be used to identify you.
Third-Party Data Handling
Data processed through third-party services like Tawk or hosting providers may be stored on servers outside Canada. These parties are responsible for managing data under their own privacy and security practices.
Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- Share misleading, harmful, or unlawful content
- Use our platform for harassment, threats, or impersonation
- Attempt to bypass security measures or disrupt services
- Use the service as a substitute for emergency help
Inappropriate use may result in blocked or terminated access.

Quality of Support
Our responders are trained volunteers or staff, not licensed professionals. We provide non-clinical emotional support only.
Termination of Access
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to services at any time, especially in cases of abuse, misconduct, or legal risk.
Third-Party Services
This website and our services may include links to or integrations with third-party tools. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy policies of these services. You are encouraged to review their terms independently.
